Custom Property Solutions

Nobody knows your property better than you and nobody knows how to keep an eye on it better than the team at Land Watch! We look forward to working with you as we develop your custom property solution. The example below shows how a Land Watch solution looks and what features may be implemented. Each location is connected to the homestead via a Land Watch Link.

The Custom Solution Design Process

ESTABLISH YOUR REQUIREMENTS

The first task is to figure out where we can help you! This is the easy part for you - think about the repetitive jobs you are doing or the vulnerable parts of your property that are exposed to theft. Like any good muster, the Land Watch design process starts with a mud map. Whatever form this takes, a pen and paper, list of GPS coordinates, aerial photo or complete Google Earth kmz. file, we can work with it. No stick drawings in the dust though please. It just needs to show the main details of your property - including the location of the main homestead and the proposed camera locations. Additional details regarding the main and secondary entrances, secondary dwellings and the yards/sheds are also very relevant and will help us with the plan. If you're unsure, give us a call and we can chat with you about this process.

CONTACT THE TEAM

You've got an idea of where we can help you, and you're ready to request a quote, simply call or email us and include the above details about your property needs and we will be in touch.

PROPERTY PLAN

Based on all the information you've given us, conversations we've had and emails we've sent, we will then develop a property plan and send to you for approval. Whether it's one camera keeping an eye on the trough in the furthest paddock or a full property solution providing cameras and connectivity, no job is too big or small for us. From there, the specific requirements for each system will be further clarified.

QUOTE & CONFIRMATION

Next we create a custom quote, covering all the details and system options covered during step 1-3. The quote will include an itemised list of all systems as well as any additional equipment and installation costs. Any final changes to the plan and quote are then made for your approval. Once you have decided to move ahead, we get started on building your systems and putting in place a timeline for having them installed on your property.

DELIVERY & LIFETIME SUPPORT

We still get excited with each system our team installs. We carefully check each component at our production shed to make sure everything is exactly as agreed. Once on site, we install your system and ensure you are feeling confident with using and operating it before we head home. If at any stage after installation you feel you need assistance, we are here for you. All our systems come with lifetime support.

Case Study - NSW

High priced calves and cattle at a Speckle Park Cattle stud in NSW, felt a little safer this calving season, thanks to a new Land Watch system. The client doesn’t live on the family property but rather lives in town, some 15 minutes away. Not a long way to drive to check on the stock, but with such valuable calves, the trip was being completed a couple times per night. Not looking forward to going through it all again this season, Land Watch suggested a solution that would provide full time live viewing of the calving yards onto the television in the house in town. Excited and truth be told, possibly a little sceptical, the client gave the go ahead.

Thanks to our Land Watch Link and the strategic placement of a repeater station on a central hill, we were able to achieve line of site straight from the farm to the roof of the house in town. This means that whenever (and however often) during the day or night, they can ensure all the calves and mums are doing well. That’s what we like to call ‘keeping an eye on what’s important’ - with $0 ongoing costs.

A 4km Land Watch Link with repeater, cameras and wifi

Land Watch Links Explained

A Land Watch Link provides a direct network connection between two points. This means we can take the internet from where it is and connect it to where it needs to be – a bit like wifi but aimed from one point to the next and able to travel 30km! That internet may be provided from your router in the house, or from the high point on the property with the best 4G reception. At Land Watch, we have perfected the use of this technology in remote harsh outback Australian conditions. From the Flinders Ranges in SA to Far North Queensland and over to WA, Land Watch Links are providing valuable connectivity across properties.

The best method of describing it, we find, is by likening it to an irrigation system. Each link we connect is like a length of poly that allows the network to spread. At each connection point we can then access it. Maybe this is for connecting a camera or maybe it is to provide internet access at the back yards that otherwise has no phone reception.

We can also then connect to a repeater station which allows additional links to continue past obstacles to the next points and so on and so on. What we end up with is a map that looks like the example above. Each of the outstations ie. yards, cottage, entry is now connected to the internet.
